Military Will Get Paid On Time Despite Government Shutdown (Video)

Video

Obama Message on Military Pay Act

Members of the U.S. military will still get paid, despite the government shutdown. In the waning hours of Monday evening, President Obama signed H.R. 3210, known as the Pay Our Military Act, which guarantees service members will get their paychecks on time during the shutdown.

As Home Post reported on Monday, the House of Representatives unanimously passed H.R. 3210 over the weekend.

The Senate approved the measure on Monday, and the president signed it when it arrived on his desk.

Under H.R. 3210, some Pentagon civilian employees will also get paid on time, as will certain defense contractors.

Just before signing the Pay Our Military Act, the president recorded a message for service members and all Defense Department personnel. You'll find that video posted up top.

Of course they will.

The "small government, anti-socialism" tea party wingnuts are actually all about huge government (war, prisons, etc.).

They military is actually one of the largest socialistic entities in the world, but shhhh, don't tell the hysterical tea ignoranta about that.

Military is also a solid voting block for wingnuts.

So, of course there are sacred cows here

They will get paid with what? The US government has no money. Oh right, borrow a few billion more yuan from the Chinese and pretend like everything is ok.

A shutdown of the US government should include the military, just like the other federal employees who are going unpaid. Fair is fair.
