Tuesday, April 15, 2014
It took crews nearly 30 minutes to put out a fire that erupted in a Serra Mesa-area canyon, KPBS media partner 10News reports.
The fire broke out just before 1:30 p.m. in a canyon near the 8600 block of Hummingbird Lane.
While several homes were above the canyon, no evacuations were immediately reported.
Ground crews and a water-dropping helicopter helped douse the flames.
