Sanders Reacts to Fed Indictments

San Diego mayor Jerry Sanders and the city attorney reacted to the indictments, saying they move the city forward. KPBS reporter Alison St John has more.

Mayor Sanders said the news of the indictments sends a powerful message to public servants who might be considering any kind of illegal activity. Secondly he said it answers questions that have been hanging over the city for too long

Sanders: "For two years San Diegans have lived with their collective hearts in their mouths wondering what shoe was going to drop next the city must learn from these events and make sure they never happen again make them part of San Diego history."

Sanders said he was elected to bring reforms to city hall and he pledged to put into effect recommendations for change. He added the indictments point blame at specific people who failed the public trust, and public employees in general should not be held responsible for the problems at city hall Alison St John, KPBS news.
