Escondido Becomes a Wireless Hotspot
Many major metropolitan cities around the country are developing plans to offer free wireless Internet. Escondido hopes to be ahead of the curve. The city plans to offer free wireless Internet access to residents, businesses, and visitors of the downtown area.
Free wireless Internet is the latest thing. Many cities see it as a way to bridge the digital divide and give their communities a leg up in the economic development game. The list of cities that have either provided free wireless service, or plan to, include San Francisco, Philadelphia and Portland, Oregon. Next Month, free wi-fi is coming to central Escondido.
