It’s just a little more than one month from the election and California Governor Schwarzenegger is well ahead of his challenger. The Governor’s tack to the left seems to have served him well with voters. And it’s stolen much of the thunder from the campaign of Democratic challenger Phil Angelides.

Pollster Mark Baldassari of the Public Policy Institute is the king of California opinion polling. Nowadays, he's turning his attention to the fall election.
