The number of Americans with Type 2 diabetes has reached epidemic proportions. Type 2 is the most common form of diabetes, and the disease can have serious complications from kidney failure to blindness. For people with Type 2 diabetes, controlling blood sugar levels is vital to reduce the risk of long-term complications. Yet, two out of three Americans with the disease are not keeping their blood sugar in check. Guest host Steve Walker talks with Daniel Einhorn, medical director of the Scripps Whittier Institute for Diabetes and clinical professor of medicine at UCSD, about how people can better regulate their blood sugar.
