San Diego Home to Diverse Reptiles and Amphibians
Tom Fudge: San Diego County is one of our nation’s biodiversity hot spots, due to the mild weather and diverse landscape. This rule also applies to our local population of reptiles and amphibians. Geckos, desert tortoises, rattle snakes and various salamanders are all to be found in the county.
We speak with a herpetologist with the San Diego Zoo who recently published the first comprehensive field guide to local reptiles and amphibians.
