Tom Fudge: T. Jefferson Parker has been writing crime novels for many years, and his milieu is southern California. Many of his stories are set in Orange and San Diego Counties. A resident of Fallbrook, Jeff's last novel was a murder mystery called The Fallen who's main character was a San Diego cop.
His new novel is called Storm Runners . Its main character is a Santa Ana police detective named Matt Stormstroe. Early in the story, Matt's wife and son are murdered in a bomb blast that was meant to kill Matt. As he recovers from his injuries and his depression, he picks up some work as a bodyguard for a TV weather woman in San Diego. Matt's new client is being stalked. And we soon learn that this is no ordinary weather girl. In fact, she is the descendent of a legendary rain maker. And she has a powerful secret that has some very bad guys pursuing her.
T. Jefferson Parker will be signing copies of his book at Mysterious Galaxy bookstore on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
