Cancer-Surviving Former Priest Turned Award-Winning Singer-Songwriter Performs in Studio

Tom Fudge: Michael Tiernan is a singer-songwriter who has had more than one turning point in his life. He is a cancer survivor whose miraculous recovery caused him to turn sharply toward religion. But the lure of a musical career kept pulling him in a different direction, even after three years spent in the Vatican's seminary.

He has a new CD of songs out that's called Spaces . Michael Tiernan will perform next Sunday, April 15 at the Belly-Up Tavern in Solana Beach. This is a matinee performance, show time is 3 p.m. and it's a benefit for the cancer support group called “Steps for Living.”
