If you live and vote in San Diego, you have a chance to largely remake the face of city government next year. The candidate filing period for the city elections of June 2008 opens next Monday.

Evan McLaughlin, a reporter with the VoiceofSanDiego.org, says it will look a like a free-for-all.

McLaughlin : We will have the ability next June to elect a mayor, a city attorney, and four city council members. Those four city council members will all be new faces because of term limits.

The four council members who are being "termed out" are Jim Madaffer, Tony Atkins, Brian Mainshein, and council president Scott Peters.
