The fate of several environmental bills passed during the legislative session hang in the balance. Proposals to require recycling at apartments to limiting plastic packaging await the governor's signature.

Steve Aceti is executive director of the California Coastal Coalition . He says it's likely more environmental bills will be vetoed than signed by Governor Schwarzenegger.

Aceti : I think there's some confusion for proponents of environmental bills as to where the governor stands. Is he really the environmental governor or is he just the global warming governor?

He says the governor may sign a bill to prevent the spread of nurdles because of industry support for the legislation. Nurdles are plastic pellets used to make everything from CDs to plastic pipe. The bill would require safer transportation and storage of the nurdles which are one of the most common pollutants on California beaches.
