Tom Fudge: On Sunday, the San Diego Chargers mounted a brave challenge, yet still lost to the New England Patriots in the NFL playoffs. Last night, the Chargers took another step in the process of working to build a new football stadium in Chula Vista. Actually, it was the Chula Vista City Council that took the step. They approved a measure to allow the Chargers to do a feasibility study, by looking at what it would take and cost to build a new stadium. The Chargers believe they need a new stadium to continue to play football, in a profitable manner, in the San Diego market. Their agreement with the city of San Diego gives them the right to move to another city or another region of the country if they feel it's necessary. But for now they're taking a look at Chula Vista as the new frontier.
