Tom Fudge : Yesterday, Barack Obama got a better grip on the "big Mo" in the Democratic race for president. He was the easy winner in the primaries held in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia. This past weekend, he also came out on top in the Louisiana primary, and at caucuses in Nebraska and Washington State.
By the time California's June primary roles around, we can expect the nominees to be chosen. So maybe we'll actually have time to think about some local races. In San Diego, the June primary features the election of mayor and city attorney. If either of those local, non-partisan races ends up with anyone getting more than 50%, the race will be decided. There will be no need for a general election.
