Tom Fudge: Human Rights Watch is one of the world's authorities on human rights and their frequent violations all over the world. But the organization is now training some of its focus on environmentalism. The executive director of the group says there's a direct link between protection of the environment and protection of the rights of common people.
The director of Human Rights Watch is Kenneth Roth. And he'll be presenting his views this evening in a speech at The University of San Diego. His lecture is called "The Dynamics of Human Rights and the Environment."
Kenneth Roth presents Thurs., Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. during the opening 2007-2008 Distinguished Lecture Series talk "The Dynamics of Human Rights and the Environment" at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice at the University of San Diego. The event is open to the public, but space is limited.
