Tom Fudge: Today, Californians are heading to the polls in the primary election. Voters in South Dakota and Montana are heading to the polls to vote in the final presidential primaries of the year. In fact, today has been a rather confusing day of political news. This morning, the Associated Press reported that Hillary Clinton had come to the decision to drop out of the race for president, and that she would concede the Democratic nomination to Barack Obama . Not an hour thereafter, Clinton campaign officials told CNN that the AP report was incorrect. That Clinton was not planning to concede. Obviously, our newsroom and National Public Radio will bring you developments in this story as the come our way.
In the California primary, there are no presidential candidates on today's ballot. But, there are a lot of significant local elected positions up for grabs. In the City of San Diego, four council seats are vacant, and the mayor and city attorney face re-election challenges.
