Tom Fudge: About two years ago, the Bush administration was hit by scandal for its decision to let seven U.S. Attorneys go for what seemed to be political reasons. Those firings, or forced resignations, included San Diego's U.S. Attorney Carol Lam. Lam had recently prosecuted Republican Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham. The firings also included a U.S. prosecutor from New Mexico named David Iglesias.
Iglesias has been, by far, the most outspoken critic of the administration for what they did. The scandal, by the way, lead to the resignation of U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez. Iglesias has written a book about his career and being forced from his job. The book is called IN JUSTICE: Inside the Scandal That Rocked the Bush Administration .
David Iglesias will have a book speaking and signing event tomorrow night -- Wednesday, June 25th -- at 7:30pm at Warwick's in La Jolla. He will speak about his experiences as described in his book.
