A Familiar Face Leaves City Hall
After three years as one of the best-known faces in San Diego city government, Fred Sainz is leaving his position as Communications Director for Mayor Jerry Sanders.
He's joining the Gill Foundation of Denver an advocacy group for social equality.
We asked Fred Sainz about his time with Mayor Sanders, particularly how much he might have influenced the Mayor's dramatic reversal of position on same-sex marriage.
Sainz will be replaced by Darren Pudgil who starts tomorrow.
Pudgil is former Communications Director for San Diego Congressman Brian Bilbray.
