Maureen Cavanaugh : We're counting down to a live broadcast of the State of the State address by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. And we're talking about the issues that face California this year, mainly the budget shortfall which threatens to derail the daily operations of the state if there's no solution found by February 1st. That's the day that state officials say California will run out of cash.
In this morning's speech, the Governor is also expected to talk about issues that are near and dear to his heart namely, infrastructure improvement and green energy, including green jobs for California.
And heaven knows California could use some of those jobs. Governor Schwarzenegger recently said he expects the unemployment rate to go up to 9 percent in the state.
