San Diego Gasoline Price Rises By Largest Amount Since Feb. 7

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County recorded its largest daily increase since Feb. 7 today, rising 3.6 cents to $3.975.

The average price has risen six consecutive days and is 9.8 cents more than one week ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

However, thanks to a 17-day streak of falling prices before the increases began, the average price is 5.1 cents lower than last month and 24 cents less than one year ago

The increasing pump prices follow a rise in the wholesale gasoline price which analysts attribute to record low stockpiles of gasoline stemming from a drop in production caused by both scheduled refinery repairs and unplanned unit shutdowns.
