Band members from the University of Wisconsin-Madison perform at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, Dec. 29, 2015.

The Badgers and Trojans marching bands played for musical supremacy with their horns, tubas and drums behind the downtown Convention Center.

Former Wisconsin center Brian Patterson said the bands get rambunctious, but it's all in fun.

“There’s no Sharks and Jets here,” Patterson said. “Everybody’s a winner today.”

The Holiday Bowl has been at Qualcomm Stadium since 1978.

Kick off is 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
