KPBS has launched “San Diego News Matters,” a daily, local news podcast for the San Diego and Imperial counties. Episodes are available now for download on iTunes, Spotify, Google Podcasts and other podcast players.
In each episode, San Diego news veteran Deb Welsh weaves together original news and features covering local politics, education, health, environment, the border and more from the KPBS newsroom, plus some California stories. New episodes are typically released by 6 a.m. every weekday morning.
“The ‘San Diego News Matters’ podcast is a new way for us to be there for our listeners every weekday, on demand. In an overwhelming news cycle, this podcast is a way to stay up on the news of our community in about ten minutes per day. It’s our trusted news coverage, on your schedule,” says Suzanne Marmion, KPBS director of news and editorial strategy.
