The San Diego Union-Tribune is introducing a new voice in its coverage of Southern California with a video news magazine called "Nuestra Voz Today."

It’s a collaboration between The Union Tribune and Los Angeles Times to increase coverage and outreach to the region’s Latino community.

The creators of "Nuestra Voz Today" say the bilingual program will cover news, entertainment and sports through video features and interviews and will be available on a variety of platforms from local television channels to the internet.

Luis Cruz, one of the co-hosts of the program, joined Midday Edition on Tuesday with more.
