I was doing research for an upcoming "These Days" show about the Picasso Miró Calder exhibit at the San Diego Museum of Art and came across this photo taken by the famous photographer Robert Capa. I love it and thought I'd share it with you. Françoise Gilot is the subject of Picasso's 1949 painting "Seated Woman," which is currently on view in the SDMA exhibit and was recently donated to the museum's collection. Gilot was with Picasso for close to 10 years and had two children with him. She later married Jonas Salk and has long worked on behalf of the Salk Institute.
