SHELTER ME, hosted by actress Katherine Heigl, is a family-friendly film that celebrates the human-animal bond with positive, uplifting stories about shelter pets and their new homes.

Every year, more than 4 million dogs and cats are euthanized in America's shelters. SHELTER ME focuses on the success stories to bring more people into the shelters to give these incredible animals a second chance.

This film shows how shelter pets are helping our returning war veterans cope with PTSD. We go inside a women’s prison, where inmates train shelter dogs to become service animals for people with disabilities.

We also see the journey of two stray dogs, from the day they are picked up on the streets and brought to the shelter until the day they become a beloved family pet. SHELTER ME is a show about redemption, hope, helping others and making a difference.

This film was sponsored by Ellen DeGeneres' company, Halo, Purely for Pets. It was produced and directed by Steven Latham of Steven Latham Productions; executive produced by Steven Latham, Lyndon Johnson and Ady Gil; co-produced by Shane Lachtman, Marion Zola and Timothy Karsten; edited by Conrad Stanley, Cheryl Campsmith and Jeff U’Ren; cinematography by Peter Krajewski; music provided by konsonant/.

The SHELTER ME theme song, “Love is Everything,” was written by Austin Bis, Melanie Fontana & Daniel Walker, and performed by Melanie Fontana. The song is available for purchase on iTunes and Amazon.
