Hazardous weather is expected in the mountains and deserts of San Diego and Riverside Counties.
The National Weather Service forecasts widely scattered thunderstorms this afternoon and early evening with warnings of locally heavy rainfall and isolated flash flooding. The heavy rainfall and flooding is expected to continue into next week, according to the NWS.
Afternoon and evening thunderstorms are also expected for the area Tuesday through Friday.
The valleys of San Diego, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties will see the harsh weather conditions beginning Sunday. The NWS reports for the region there is a chance of thunderstorms and isolated flash flooding, mostly near the foothills.
