Togo Dictator's Death and Future of West Africa

After surviving seven assassination attempts, it took an act of nature to finally unseat one of Africa's longest living dictators. President Gnassingbé Eyadéma of Togo died of a heart attack over the weekend. Meri Danqua, a freelance journalist based in Ghana, Togo's West African neighbor, speaks with NPR's Ed Gordon about developments there.
