Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has revolutionized much of his country's economy, and now he has his sights on its culture. The government has promoted more Venezuelan music on the radio, sponsored art and poetry festivals, and now is turning to Venezuelan cinema.
Government has launched its latest cultural revolution by opening Cinema City — a film studio near Caracas that mixes cinema with politics.
Although not all the films that come out of Cinema City are political, critics say the studio is a propaganda machine that shows Chavez's government is more interested in ideology than making movies.
