Medvedev: Russia To End Military Action In Georgia

Russia's president Tuesday announced an end to the military action in Georgia. During a national televised address, Dmitri Medvedev said the Russian military had "punished" Georgia enough for its attack on the South Ossetia province.

Russian and Georgian forces have been fighting since last week after Georgia launched an offensive to regain control over its separatist province, which has close ties to Russia.

While Medvedev ordered an end to military action, he said the military could still defend itself and quell any signs of Georgian resistance.
