3.3 quake hits San Diego County; epicenter near Borrego Springs

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 rocked the deserts of East County at 10:33 a.m. Monday.

The epicenter was 9 miles north of Borrego Springs, near the Riverside County line and about 18 miles south of La Quinta.

Riverside County Sheriff's dispatchers confirmed there were no damage reports. The quake was felt as far away as Ramona by some people, according to the USGS.
