A book that asks why evolution has left us with bad knees, too many wrist bones and the tendency to catch colds, points out the mistakes in the human anatomy, and how we've coped with them.

“Human Errors: A Panorama of Our Glitches, From Pointless Bones to Broken Genes” by Nathan Lents was published in May.

Lents joins Midday Edition Tuesday to give us a preview of some of the flaws he writes about in the book.

He will be giving a free lecture about the book Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the San Diego Central Library.
