It’s like an eye-opening advice column except KQED’s "Truth Be Told" is a podcast for people of color, produced by people of color. The show examines issues of race in a safe space with the help of listener inquiries and experts known as "wise ones".
Podcast host Tonya Mosley joined Midday Edition to talk about how her show is helping people embrace who they are, one episode at a time.
"I really want people to walk away wanting to have more conversations with each other around racism and the impacts of racism in our society," Mosley said.
Topics on the podcast range from "colonized desire," which explores the question, "how much of our desires are truly our own versus what society tells us we should like," to understanding what it means to be, "black enough" or "Asian enough" or "queer enough" for people of color in the U.S.
