There's a great website out there for women married to a man in the Army, aptly named I am an Army Wife. The site is a gathering of first-person essays by Army wives - women sharing their experiences with others who are going through the same painful separations, the same fears, and the same longings.
From time to time, I'll be visiting the site, and selecting part of an essay I think Home Post readers would really enjoy. Check out this very moving piece, called "The Moments That Are Burned in My Brain," from an author who calls herself armywife3765. She writes of watching her husband the night before he is deployed:
