No Pay for Military during Government Shutdown

A senior official in the Obama administration told the Stars and Stripes that servicemembers would get their paychecks during a government shutdown. The troops would, however, have to report for duty anyway. Any pay they'd earn during the possible shutdown would be sent to them after a budget agreement is reached and the federal government gets rolling again. I'm guessing by the three question marks at the end of her sentence that it's very, very hard. Interestingly enough, guess who does get paid during a government shutdown? Every single member of Congress (the very Congress who hasn't been able to pass a budget) and President Obama, according to USA Today. Is the steam blowing out of your ears yet?
