Camden Pierce Hughes. That's the name of the little boy whose body was dumped, allegedly by his own mother, in Maine last weekend. Boston TV station WBZ broke the story today of 6-year-old Camden's identity. According to WBZ, Juli McCrery of Irving, Texas confessed to police that she gave Camden an overdose of medication that killed him.
An anonymous source told ABC News McCrery was tracked down in Massachusetts:
Home Post reported yesterday that authorities involved in the case believed the boy's parents may have been in the military, because no one locally had reported a child missing that matched Camden's description. Also, a witness claimed the license plate on the truck that dumped the boy's body had a Navy insignia on it. The Navy Criminal Investigative Service became involved in the case because of the possible link.
Turns out, McCrery's other son (and Hughes' brother) was in the Navy, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
