John McCain was once again his outspoken self today when he criticized Lockheed Martin's F-35 program during a hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he's the highest ranking Republican. According to Reuters, McCain called the program both a "train wreck" and "incredibly troubled." He said Lockheed Martin had done an "abysmal" job of keeping costs for the program from getting out-of-hand.
McCain wants the Pentagon to consider other programs if Lockheed Martin doesn't reign in costs. The Associated Press reports:
