Military Buys Mini-Robots to Protect Troops (Video)

These little guys are wild. Called Recon Scout XT micro-robots, they come equipped with cameras - and they can provide video reconnaissance to troops who throw (yes, throw) them into dangerous situations. You can watch the video below to see exactly how they work.

United Press International is reporting the U.S. military has ordered almost $6 million worth of the micro-robots kits, which comes out to about 385 kits. The U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Force and the U.S. Special Operations Command ordered the kits, according to UPI.

The micro-robots weigh about a pound, and can climb up and over walls. Check out this video of the micro-robots in action:
