Google announced today on its Gmail Blog that members of the United States Armed Forces can now call home for free using Gmail. All you need is a valid military email address (one that ends in .mil) and your calls to the United States from anywhere in the world will be free.
According to the Gmail Blog, this is how you connect:
- Add your valid .mil email address to your Google Account
- Click on the Call phone link at the top of the Gmail chat roster and install the voice and video Gmail plugin if you haven’t already.
