The newest model of iPhone is headed to U.S. military bases in Japan this week, complete with the personal assistant app "Siri." Takashi Takebayashi ofApple Japan tells the Stars and Stripes that Siri will be available in English, French, and German - but not Japanese.
I'm sure it's just coincidence that the Siri app in Japan has a bit of humor attached to it, as Home Post reported last week. It turns out that way the word "Siri" is pronounced in Japanese makes it sound like the word for "buttocks."
Apple Japan had originally reported that models of the iPhone 4S sold in Japan wouldn't come with the app Siri.
