Iraq War Vet's Skull Fractured at Occupy Oakland (Video)

Former Marine and Iraq War veteran Scott Olsen suffered a skull fracture after being hit by a "police projectile" during the Occupy Oakland protest Tuesday, according to AFP. Highland General Hospital spokesman Curt Olsen told AFP that the 24-year-old Olsen was hospitalized in critical condition.

Olsen's roommate and fellow veteran, Keith Shannon, told the Huffington Post the two men became friends when they served in Iraq together in 2006 and 2007. Olsen and Shannon were part of the Marines' 3rd Battalion. Shannon explained why Olsen attended Tuesday's demonstration:

"He doesn't agree with the way the banks aren't regulated, the way they drove the economy in the ground. He wants there to be regulation of the banks."

ABC News posted video of the injured Olsen being carried to safety during the protest. I've posted that video below with the warning that it may be disturbing to some viewers.
