Troops who suffer traumatic injuries to their genitourinary organs (genitals) are now eligible for Servicemembers Group Life Insurance Traumatic Injury Protection (TSGLI), according to the Department of Veterans Affairs:
TSGLI payments range from $25,000 to $50,000, depending on the injury.
Traumatic injuries to genitourinary organs have been on the rise. As the Washington Post reported back in August:
Home Post reported earlier this year that the Pentagon had purchased $19 million worth of underwear dubbed 'Blast Boxers' to protect the troops' genitals against improvised explosive device (IED) blasts.
