Severe Groin Injuries Now Covered by Military Insurance

Troops who suffer traumatic injuries to their genitourinary organs (genitals) are now eligible for Servicemembers Group Life Insurance Traumatic Injury Protection (TSGLI), according to the Department of Veterans Affairs:

TSGLI payments range from $25,000 to $50,000, depending on the injury.

Traumatic injuries to genitourinary organs have been on the rise. As the Washington Post reported back in August:

Home Post reported earlier this year that the Pentagon had purchased $19 million worth of underwear dubbed 'Blast Boxers' to protect the troops' genitals against improvised explosive device (IED) blasts.
