Camp Pendleton Marine Sgt. William Stacey was killed January 31 by an IED while on foot patrol in Afghanistan. Last week Home Post shared a war correspondent's memories of the 23-year-old sergeant. Lawrence Dabney had been embedded with Stacey's squad in Afghanistan. Dabney wrote of Stacey:
Now Stacey's family is giving us more information about what kind of man Stacey was. The Stacey family shared with the Seattle Times a letter he left for them in case he did not make it back from Afghanistan alive.
