The shooting death of Camp Pendleton Marine Sgt. Manuel Loggins Jr. has sparked outrage among many Home Post readers.
Just to refresh: The 31-year-old Loggins was driving early Tuesday morning with his two daughters, ages 9 and 14. Loggins was shot and killed by an Orange County Sheriff's as he exited his car after allegedly crashing through a gate at San Clemente High School.
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Loggins was not armed at the time of the shooting. Friends of Loggins say he regularly visited the high school in the early morning hours to read the Bible and walk the school's track.
