Family and friends held a memorial service at Camp Pendleton for Marine Sgt. Manuel Loggins Jr. last Friday afternoon, according to the Facebook tribute page "We Miss You Sgt. Manny Loggins."
Mourners at the service remembered Loggins for his gentle, soft-spoken demeanor. The Los Angeles Times reports civilian coworker Nils Bjorn eulogized Loggins as deeply religious:
Orange County Sheriff's Deputy Darren Sandberg shot and killed Loggins in the early morning hours of February 7th at San Clemente High School.
