Home Post Readers Want Rush Off Armed Forces Radio

Home Post wrote yesterday about an online petition gaining steam to get Rush Limbaugh's radio program off the Armed Forces Radio Network. This was in response to Limbaugh calling Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke a "slut" and "prostitute" for urging employers to provide insurance coverage for contraception, when she spoke before a Congressional panel.

To my surprise, yesterday's post is garnering more comments than any other in recent memory. Virtually all of the comments were in opposition to Rush Limbaugh remaining on the Armed Forces Radio Network.

The voice of the GOP Rush Limbaugh must go….I never will vote Republican again and I will never support any advertiser that supports his show. Rush preaches hate and fear and I have always been amazed why any company would support this. He has a history of prejudice of minorities and women when will this stop? TAKE THE BIGOT OFF THE AIR.

SteveFromSacto agreed:

America's brave fighting men and women protect our rights, like the right to testify before a Congressional committee and speak your mind. To have one labeled a "slut" and a "prostitute" for doing that is against everything our country stands for. American Forces Radio should drop Limbaugh like a hot rock.

And from Gilette62:

Our taxpayer funds pay for this toad to broadcast demeaning, insulting and absolutely abhorrent comments to our brave servicemen and women? No way! I withhold my tax money from this twisted pervert.

There was at least one Rush supporter. Someone who signed in as "Guest" wrote the phrase "liberal talking points" after most anti-Rush comments. In addition, Guest wrote:

And for any sponsor who drops Rush, I will NOT support them.

So, what do YOU think? Should the Armed Forces Radio Network keep Rush Limbaugh on its airwaves?
