Sesame Street Songs Used To Torture Gitmo Detainees? (Video)

Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Guantanamo Bay? Apparently, there are more than a few Gitmo detainees who know the answer to that famous musical question, after being forced to listen to Sesame Street tunes for hours (or days) on end as a form of torture - according to an Al Jazeera documentary.

In the documentary, called Songs of War, human rights researcher Thomas Keenan claims:

"Prisoners were forced to put on headphones. They were attached to chairs, headphones were attached to their heads, and they were left alone just with the music for very long periods of time. Sometimes hours, even days on end, listening to repeated loud music."

Although Pentagon spokesman Capt. John Kirby confirmed to Politico that music has been used on Guantanamo Bay detainees as a "disincentive," he couldn't say whether Sesame Street ditties were used:

“I don’t know what the playlist is. It’s done in a measured way, in keeping with our obligation and commitment to treating detainees humanely.”
