Camp Pendleton Couple Wins Free IVF Cycle (Video)

A Camp Pendleton Marine and his wife have won a free in vitro fertilization cycle through a contest sponsored by a fertility clinic. Jimmy and Emily Heaton said in their video entry they've done six previous IVF cycles, all of which resulted in miscarriages.

Military health care does not cover the cost of IVF, according to the TRICARE website:

TRICARE does not cover non-coital reproductive technologies such as artificial insemination, in-vitro fertilization or other types of assisted reproductive technology (ART) except under special circumstances for some severely wounded warriors.

According to the New York Times, the cost of an IVF cycle can range from $12,000 - $17,000.
