An unnamed U.S. service member is being held in what's called pretrial confinement - according to Stars and Stripes - as German authorities and the U.S. Air Force's Office of Special Investigation look into the Dec. 14, 2013 death of Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Dmitry Chepusov.
Chepusov, 31, worked for American Forces Network-Europe at Ramstein Air Base.
As Home Post previously reported, early on the morning of Dec. 14, German police stopped a car for driving erratically. They discovered Chepusov dead in the passenger seat.

The legal driving limit in Germany is 0.05 percent.
According to an OIS spokeswoman, the driver (who is a U.S. service member) has not yet been charged with a crime. However, he will remain in U.S. military custody as the investigation into Chepusov's death continues.
