Washington D.C. and nearby Arlington, Va. got walloped Tuesday by Winter Storm Gorgon - a weather event that brought several inches of snow to the region.

But the brutal elements did not stop a soldier from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment from guarding the Tomb of the Unknowns (also called the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier) at Arlington National Cemetery.

The 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, also known as The Old Guard, is the same group responsible for "flags in" - the annual tradition of placing an American flag at each and every grave in Arlington National Cemetery for Memorial Day.
