Senate Fails to Take Up House Iraq Resolution

The Senate failed Saturday to advance a measure noting opposition to President Bush's plan for increasing U.S. troop levels in Iraq. The measure was identical to a nonbinding resolution House Democrats pushed through Friday. The 56-34 vote was four short of the 60 needed to proceed.
