Democratic Sens. Hillary Clinton and Robert Byrd have proposed that Congress revoke the authority it gave President Bush in 2002 to run the Iraq war.
The senators want the authorization to expire on Oct. 11, 2007, the fifth anniversary of Congress' original vote. Clinton, a front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, voted for that resolution.
It is unclear whether revoking the president's authority would bring the troops home.
